What service do we provide

The Wheelchair & Repair Service provides fully integrated wheelchair and postural management services to eligible residents of West Hampshire, Southampton and the Isle of Wight on behalf of the NHS. 

Assessments are held in a variety of locations e.g. clinic, at home, at a day centre or school. Please refer to the eligibility criteria here

Accessing this Service

If you have never used the Wheelchair Service before, you will need a referral from a qualified healthcare professional. This could be your:

  • General Practitioner (GP)
  • Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist
  • Hospital Consultant

When we have received your referral, a member of our team will contact you. We will discuss your needs, or invite you for an assessment. Accessing the service is subject to the eligibility criteria set by the NHS.

How to refer into the service

Out-of-hours emergency repair service If you have an emergency repair that needs attending to outside of normal working hours, please call 0333 003 8071. You will be directed to the out-of-hours service team, who will be happy to assist you.

How can I complain?

You should make your complaint as soon as possible. The time limit for a complaint is in most cases 12 months from the date the event happened, or 12 months from the date you first became aware of it.
