As a Workshop Engineer, I help provide a much-needed service on behalf of the NHS and social care by preparing, modifying and repairing wheelchairs for our service users. I hadn’t worked with wheelchairs before but I’m glad I applied for the workshop engineer role as it's very rewarding and interesting. I work with clinicians to ensure that every wheelchair meets the specific service user’s needs. Occasionally I accompany clinicians during assessments and adapt wheelchairs during the appointment.

Service users are always grateful for your efforts. It means a lot when you see how much your work is appreciated.

Millbrook has been great for my career too. I’ve had training in niche products, user wellbeing checks and clinical seating.

I work to clinicians’ notes to ensure that every wheelchair meets the specific service user’s needs and occasionally I accompany clinicians in assessments and adapt wheelchairs during the appointment.
