Carers Week 2025: Recognising the lifeline carers provide

This Carers Week from 9 to 15 June, Millbrook Healthcare is proud to join the national effort to celebrate and support unpaid carers across the UK. We work every day with carers, family members, friends and neighbours who make it possible for people to live independently, safely and with dignity in their own homes. Often working quietly in the background, carers play an essential role in maintaining wellbeing and preventing unnecessary hospital stays. Their contribution is vital and yet too often goes unrecognised.

Caring about equality

This year’s theme Caring About Equality highlights the importance of making sure every carer has fair access to the support, resources and recognition they need. At Millbrook Healthcare, that means continuing to deliver services that make life easier not only for the people who use our equipment but for the people who help them every day. We believe in care that works for everyone. Whether it is a straightforward delivery, a thoughtful home adaptation or equipment that restores confidence, our role is to reduce pressure and support everyday life.

Supporting carers through what we do best

We support carers by doing what we do best. We actively consult with carers to understand their needs, ensuring that their feedback helps shape our services. We provide timely access to community equipment and home improvements. We offer flexible and practical solutions to suit a wide range of needs. We make our services easy to navigate and responsive to real life challenges. Through our work with local authorities, the NHS and housing services, we help deliver coordinated care that recognises carers and supports their ability to continue in their role without feeling alone.

How you can help

  • Reach out to a carer you know. Even a simple message of appreciation can mean a lot.
  • Share Carers Week resources to raise awareness in your workplace or community.
  • Support initiatives and policies that promote equality for carers.

Carers are not just helpers. They are the backbone of community care. They deserve recognition, respect, and equity.

This Carers Week, let us stand up for equality by standing with carers.
