Creating a more inclusive workforce

Millbrook Healthcare are proud to have signed the Age-friendly Employer Pledge, a nationwide programme run by the Centre for Ageing Better. By signing the pledge we are showing our commitment to older workers and making our workplace age-friendly.

This means we’re taking positive action to improve our recruitment, retention and development of workers aged 50 and over.

Being a part of the pledge means we draw on a wider pool of applicants for each job. It means older workers can continue to thrive and contribute in our organisation. And it means we can benefit from the innovation and productivity boost that multigenerational workforces bring.

This commitment reflects our ethos to create and develop staff teams which reflect and understand the communities that we support, using lived experience to improve the services that we deliver.

During 2024 we engaged 118 new employees and 58 of those were over 50, which demonstrates our commitment to age equality. However there is always more that we can do, so as part of our pledge we will be focused on ensuring that our older employees have equality of access to training and development within our business, helping every employee to reach their full potential regardless of their age.

Millbrook Healthcare: Caring for our community

As we celebrate Nurses’ Day, we are encouraged to deepen our commitment to providing compassionate care, enhancing independence, and fostering well-being within our communities. At Millbrook Healthcare, our dedication to meaningful partnerships, comprehensive staff development, and a vibrant culture of volunteering reflects our belief that nurturing our nurses enriches the lives of everyone we serve.

Today and every day, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all nurses whose dedication and expertise enrich our lives. By honoring their achievements and supporting their growth, we not only keep Florence Nightingale’s legacy alive but also champion the vital role of nursing in creating a healthier, more caring world.

Millbrook Healthcare. We care.
