Peter pushes the limit for Cancer Research UK

Spotlight on Peter’s push-up challenge for Cancer Research UK

At Millbrook Healthcare, caring for our communities extends beyond the services we provide every day – it’s about supporting causes that touch lives across the UK. This January, one of our own team members, Peter, is truly going above and beyond.

Peter has taken on the 100 Push-Ups a Day Challenge to raise funds for Cancer Research UK – a charity committed to saving lives by investing in scientific research to prevent, detect, and treat cancer. While the original challenge target is 100 push-ups per day, Peter has already reached 140 daily and is pushing toward a new goal of 200 by the end of January – spurred on by a friendly pledge from a colleague.

Why this matters

Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest independent funder of cancer research, supporting scientists, doctors, and nurses across the country who are working to unlock new ways to prevent, detect, and treat more than 200 types of cancer. Donations power world‑class research that helps improve diagnosis, develop new treatments, and reduce the impact cancer has on families and communities — while also funding vital studies into reducing cancer risk and improving survival rates.

Thanks to decades of progress, survival rates in the UK have improved significantly, but there is still more to be done — especially in early detection and breakthrough therapies. Every contribution helps accelerate that work, bringing us all closer to longer, better lives for people affected by cancer.

Join us in supporting Peter

We’re incredibly proud of Peter’s commitment, both to his personal challenge and to an important cause that affects so many. Whether it’s through a donation, sharing his journey, or cheering him on, every action helps move cancer research forward.
