Millbrook Healthcare, NHS Sussex, and West Sussex County Council Logos

Millbrook Healthcare is delighted to be the Community Equipment Service (CES) provider for West Sussex. 

The CES service combines current equipment provision so that all equipment – simple, complex and specials – will be ordered and delivered to people's homes using one process for all items. When no longer required, all equipment will then be collected together, cleaned and wherever possible recycled. 

The CES service will provide same day, 3-day, 7-day and dated deliveries and next day and 5-day collections.

Standard operational hours will be 08:30 to 18:00 Monday to Saturday with order cut off times extended to 15:30.

Specials will be locally ordered with recycled specials catalogued to enable easy viewing and ordering. The catalogue will be shared with East Sussex CES and Prescribers to provide maximum opportunities for recycle specials to be reused.

Equipment list includes:

  • Hospital beds
  • Pressure relieving mattresses (dynamic & static) and cushions
  • Hoists and moving and handling equipment
  • Shower chairs and bathing equipment
  • Commodes and toilet frames / seats
  • Walking aids
  • Perching stools and small equipment
  • Sensory

For any teams who may find it helpful to take equipment with them on home visits (rapid response, hospital discharge etc.), this will still be possible as an alternative for smaller equipment, which can be collected immediately through peripheral stores, following an online order.

    Incident reporting

    All incidents where there has been customer/patient harm or potential harm are to be reported to the CES Contract Management Team by completing the incident form which can be downloaded by clicking here and emailing it to: ACDCESContractManagement@westsussex.gov.uk


    Cancelling orders

    If you have any incomplete orders or duplicates please do cancel them from the system or if they are out for delivery please contact us by emailing the dedicated inbox: WestSussexOrderCancellations@millbrookhealthcare.co.uk and we will cancel them within 24 hours (the prescriber who placed the order will receive notification of the cancellation).

    Please could we ask that Prescribers remember to attach quotes to all purchase orders, as they cannot be raised without this.

    We would also like to remind Prescribers that Driver Technicians are not contractually obligated to install any specials or recycled specials. If they do so, it is because they feel confident in their knowledge of the product.

    Nixis is currently going through the backlog of raised SP purchase orders – there has been an internal delay but the ball is now rolling. If any prescribers have outstanding POs please know that Nixie is making their way through them, thank you.
