A Community Equipment Technician

A Community Equipment Technician

As a Community Equipment Technician, I help provide a much-needed service on behalf of the NHS and social care delivering and installing healthcare equipment.

Every day I see the difference I make to people’s lives, it’s one of the best things about working here.

I visit about 15 service users each day, delivering healthcare equipment, from walking frames to specialist beds. I’m also trained to install equipment, such as handrails, so there’s variety in my role.

I’m part of an on-call rota. Occasionally, when I’m on-call, I have urgent deliveries in the evening or at the weekend. I’m paid for being on-call, so it’s a nice way to increase my earnings.
